16 Tage gegen Gewalt an Frauen 2018

Triggerwarnung:

Explizite Behandlung von Gewalt gegen Frauen*

“We have an abundance of rape and violence against women in this country and on this Earth, though it's almost never treated as a civil rights or human rights issue, or a crisis, or even a pattern. Violence doesn't have a race, a class, a religion, or a nationality, but it does have a gender.”

Gewalt ist ein soziales Problem:

stop victingblaming

  • Rape Prevention Tipp #1: If someone is drunk, don't rape them.
  • Rape Prevention Tipp #2: When you see someone walking by themselves, leave them alone.
  • Rape Prevention Tipp #3: Use the Buddy System! If it is difficult for you to stop yourself from raping someone, ask a trusted friend to accompany you at all times.
  • Rape Prevention Tipp #4: Carry a rape whistle. If you find that you are about to rape someone, blow the whistle until someone comes to stop you.
  • Rape Prevention Tipp #5: Don't forget: honesty is the best policy. When asking someone out, don't pretend that you are interested in them as a person. Tell them straight up that you expect to be raping them later. If you don't communicate your intentions, they may take it as a sign that you do not plan to rape them.

The early feminist argument that violence against women is not inherently a private matter, but has been privatized by the sexist structures of the state, the economy, and the family has had a powerful impact on public consciousness.
